Mr. Dimitrov is a consumer bankruptcy attorney specializing in the representation of individuals in Chapter 7 and 13 cases. While developing his practice in the field of consumer bankruptcy, Mr. Dimitrov has also undertaken some of the more complicated areas of bankruptcy law such as debt restructuring and business reorganization under Chapter 11. Mr. Dimitrov’s expertise includes debt dischargeability, fraud, and asset protection. Such issues often require legal action in court, which Mr. Dimitrov pursues tirelessly on behalf of his clients.

Formerly with the Foster Law Group and Zapiler & Associates, Mr. Dimitrov has brought a breadth of experience in the field of bankruptcy law to Colorado Law Group. During his tenure at Foster Law Group, Mr. Dimitrov assisted hundreds of Colorado residents in the process of obtaining bankruptcy discharge under Chapters 7 and 13.

Prior to successfully completing the Colorado Bar Exam, Mr. Dimitrov attended University of Denver Sturm College of Law and clerked at Castle Meinhold & Stawiarski in Denver. During this time, Mr. Dimitrov obtained valuable experience in the field of bankruptcy and foreclosure which triggered his pursuit of the bankruptcy field post graduation.In his previous experience, Mr. Dimitrov worked as a summer associate at the Center for Economic Development Law in Oklahoma City where he was involved in the establishment of the Oklahoma City Tax Increment Districts 1 and 2.

Mr. Birney is a consumer bankruptcy attorney specializing in the representation of Colorado individuals and small to mid-size businesses in need of financial reorganization under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Birney's practice includes full representation in Chapter 7 and 13 cases.

Previously as a law clerk for Judge Jack W. Berryhill in the 1st Judicial District and with Zapiler & Associates, Mr. Birney experienced firsthand Colorado’s bankruptcy, civil, criminal, and family law courts.  During his five years with Zapiler & Associates, Mr. Birney helped Mr. Dimitrov serve hundreds of Chapter 7 and 13 clients in Colorado, as well as manage, research, and litigate many of the firm’s personal injury and civil litigation cases.


Before successfully completing the Colorado Bar Exam, Mr. Birney attended the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, clerked under Judge W. Berryhill, and then for Colorado Law Group. During this time, Mr. Birney researched and wrote court orders for Judge Berryhill on criminal, civil, and family law matters, while at the same time managing Judge Berryhill’s mixed daily docket.  This experience has been invaluable to Colorado Law Group and our clients, many of whom are in front of the bankruptcy trustees and judges daily, because the bankruptcy court and our clients know that they are dealing with a polished, experienced attorney.

Mr. Dewey is a consumer bankruptcy attorney specializing in the representation of individuals in Chapter 7 cases. Mr. Dewey developed his practice in the bankruptcy filed over the course of his employment with various well-recognized firms in Colorado, including Custer Roberson, LLP and Macey Bankruptcy Law. While there, Mr. Dewey took great care in the preparation and filing of each case in order to provide each client with the requisite level of attention needed for successful completion of their case. Prior to entering the bankruptcy field, Mr. Dewey was employed by HindmanSanchez, P.C. which specializes in the representation of creditors, such as homeowner's associations.
